Activate a License
Activation is the final step to getting the software up and running. It is a quick and straightforward process.
Before You Begin
You will need an active internet connection with access to https://software.snowmandesign.co.uk before carrying out the activation process.
Activation Limits
You are free to install the software on as many machines as you like, however your license only allows the software to be actively running on a set number of machines at the same time. This is known as the activation limit.
A few important points to note:
- Activation is tied to the machine it is activated on.
- The license itself is tied to the user.
- Because of the way this is set up, you should not need administrator permissions to license or activate the software.
Activating the Software
- Click the Activate License button on the Snowman Design (DDM) toolbar tab.
- The software will contact our server and activate your license automatically.
- You will receive a confirmation message once your license is active.
Staying Active
Once activated, the software needs to check in with our licensing server every 30 days to confirm your license is still valid. This happens automatically each time you open the add-in, as long as you have an active internet connection at that time.
If the software is unable to connect to our server, a grace period is applied, allowing you to continue using the software while the connection issue is resolved.
If you experience a temporary internet outage and want to reset the check-in counter without restarting Excel, you can do this manually by clicking the Refresh Server Information button on the Snowman Design (DDM) toolbar tab.
